Ce volume de 251 pages est la publication de la table ronde tenue à Barcelone les 5-9 novembre 2008 dans le but d’entreprendre une révision de la typologie et de la chronologie des trois grandes classes de céramiques omniprésentes en Méditerranée du IIe au VIIe s. apr. J.-C. : sigillée africaine, sigillée phocéenne (Late Roman C) et sigillée chypriote (Late Roman D). Cette manifestation a réuni une trentaine de spécialistes qui ont réfléchi ensemble sur la datation des contextes de références et la typo-chronologie. Premier tome de la série LRFW, ce livre propose un compte rendu précis de ces discussions, des contributions additionnelles aux débats et une série de nouveaux contextes céramiques (voir table des matières ci-dessous).
This first volume [of the RLAMP] offers a variety of contributions focused on several aspects of late Roman fine wares in the mediterranean by the scholars present in the Barcelona workshop or by other scholars, including those who participated in the preparatory meeting held in Aix-en-Provence and Barcelona.
[...] Overall, this volume, in the spirit of the ICREA/ESF Exploratory Workshop and heralding future monographs that will result from it, offers both desposits that are important for the dating of fine wares, together with more theoretical papers on the same subject.
